Join us on June 29th when we team up with PMA.LA (Product Managers Association Los Angeles) to delve into the vital and needed topic of ethics and equity in the product development cycle

We're bringing together industry experts, thought leaders, and like-minded professionals to explore subjects related to product development for the public good, incorporating accessibility into product development, and how to navigate ethical implications of AI development.

More about our speakers

Cindy Lin (she/they) believes that data and human connection can drive both powerful change within companies and adoption with their customers. Over their 10+ year career, Cindy has worked to weave ethics into all the products and solutions they have built across their Product Management and Business Intelligence roles. Our products have the power to shape the world so why not endeavor to build them to be inclusive and equitable that does no harm? Their previous companies include HopSkipDrive, TSIA, Victorious, and Avery Dennison. They currently run Cindy Lin Consulting, a data product consultancy. 

Chris Chenet (he/him/él) has with a deep passion for social systems design. Chris is guided by a framework of ethics and equity, committed to fostering inclusive design practices, and he drives impactful change within social and public services for our communities.

As a Senior Technical Advisor at LAHSA, the largest municipal government addressing homelessness, Chris has leveraged technology to transform support for individuals experiencing homelessness. His comprehensive understanding of the sector's challenges is informed by experience as a social worker for Children's Hospital Los Angeles. With expertise in integrating technology to streamline services, he is very much a catalyst in addressing product and design issues in the delivery of social and public assistance to people in need.

Krystal Cooper is a former PM of AI at CareerBuilder, and is currently working at the intersection of spatial equity and gaming as a researcher. She will provide valuable insights on the intersection of AI ethics and policy in the realm of HR, shedding light on the crucial considerations for fair and inclusive data practices in the ever-evolving product development workspace.

Leonardo Neves (he/him/his) is a leading computational science researcher specializing in Natural Language Processing and Data Mining. He is the co-author of more than 20 publications in top conferences and has a track record of managing high performing teams that turn academic research into products. Currently he is the Head of Applied Research at Grammarly, but his previous experience includes Principal Research Scientist at Snap and numerous teaching positions at Harvard, UCLA and UC Riverside.
