The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and several healthcare accrediting agencies have mandated requirements to incorporate an intentional focus on reducing health disparities among hospital patients. The lack of compliance could lead to significant deficiencies during accreditation surveys and reduction in reimbursement for care provided.
